Icebreakers
As a world leading designer of icebreakers, Elomatic is well positioned to provide the latest advanced expertise to deliver these complex, critical vessels.
Elomatic has previously partnered with Seaspan’s Vancouver Shipyard (VSY), to provide engineering and consulting services for the construction of 1st highly complex Polar Class 2 heavy polar icebreaker for the Canadian Coast Guard, to be delivered in 2030. VSY is also utilizing Elomatic’s specialist expertise in digital transformation projects to develop new planning tools for the shipyard, which streamline core shipbuilding processes and modernizes the production through advanced CAD and integrated management (IM) solutions.
The innovative new Polarstern project is a multi-functional icebreaking polar research and resupply vessel which represents the latest developments in modern icebreaker design. Elomatic is responsible for all the engineering process of the project, adopting the role as the dedicated design department for the shipyard.
Cruise Ships
Elomatic’s expertise in cutting-edge vessel design has enabled us to collaborate with the leading cruise lines within the industry. This includes the Icon of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world, at 250,800 GT, for Royal Caribbean International.
Elomatic provided comprehensive engineering support to develop a 100 meter long “Floating Engine Room Unit” (FERU), which included a full outfitting design of the LNG tanks and bunker areas. The team also provided electrical and automation detail design, including engine room and safety systems electric design, as well as the main theatre HVAC and interior design.
Technical Analysis
Elomatic has established expertise in providing services for structural analysis, multibody simulations and fluid dynamics, with hundreds of orders, and dozens of satisfied customers.
Laser Scanning
Laser scanning is a key solution to support retrofit projects, where the 3D signature is scanned and transferred into the 3D CAD model, used to design any additional systems or structures. Laser scanning produces 3D point clouds, which establish a 360-degree view of the surveyed area – to provide detailed insight into relevant design work that is required. Elomatic has more than 20 years of experience in laser scanning, including mobile, component and drone scanning.
