Karoliina Joensuu appointed head of Elomatic’s new Industry business unit

Strengthening the sustainability-focused strategy

Consulting and engineering company Elomatic has appointed Karoliina Joensuu as the head of its new Industry business unit. Joensuu has nearly 20 years of experience in the energy sector, and she specializes in developing energy systems towards carbon neutrality.

Karoliina Joensuu will start her position as Senior Vice President of Elomatic’s Industry business unit on September 16, 2024. The newly formed unit combines the expertise of two previous business units, offering a comprehensive range of services for both the process and energy sectors, as well as machinery and equipment design. The new Industry organization structure will be implemented starting from October 1, 2024.

Joensuu transitions to Elomatic from Caverion Industry, where she served as Head of Business, Partnerships and Advisory. Prior to this, she led the renewable energy and environmental consulting business at FCG Finnish Consulting Group, headed Pöyry’s renewable energy business, and oversaw ÅF Consulting’s energy consulting operations.

“It’s wonderful to join an organization that prioritizes sustainability in both its own and its customers’ operations and has such an innovative culture as Elomatic,” says Joensuu.

Elomatic is currently undergoing a strategic update, aiming to strengthen the company’s position internationally. “The merger of two business units supports our revised strategy, and Joensuu is an excellent choice to lead the new unit,” says Tom Lind, CEO of Elomatic.

“Joensuu has a deep understanding of industry sustainability issues and a long track record of building strategic partnerships. In addition, her strong expertise in the energy sector, especially in renewable energy, is perfectly in line with our long-term goals,” Lind adds.
